On August 15, our Church in Jeonju celebrated its Feast Day, the Dormition of the Theotokos. Present was His Eminence Mejtropolitan Ambrosios of Korea.
The night before, His Eminence Ambrosios officiated the Service of the Great Vespers and Artoklasia, assisted by the Parish Priest fr. Hilarion and Deacon Yohan Park, with the participation of the Congregation and visitors who came from St. Nicholas Cathedral in Seoul. At the end of the Service, a procession and singing of special hymns took place, after which His Eminence delivered a sermon regarding the virtues of the Mother of God being an example for us contemporary Christians.
On the next day, His Eminence celebrated the Divine Liturgy, assisted by Parish Priet, Father Hilarion and Deacon Yohan Park.
Following the Divine Liturgy there was an agape meal served to everyone and students from the Summer Camp put up a play and sang various Camp songs. Many Orthodox faithful from Jeonju and elsewhere attended all the events.
